Bible School Requirements
(extracted from the official program)God instructs us:
"But thou, O man of God, follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness be thou an "example of the believers," in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit. Meditate upon these things, give thyself wholly to them."
If these principles are believed and respected by all, then the following necessary requirements will receive your full support.
Personal Conduct
Attendance - Attendance at all Bible School classes is required and punctuality is expected. Unbaptized teenagers must attend the classes designed for them.
Dress - "Modest and seemly as befits those who profess God likeness" (1 Timothy 2:9-11; 1 Peter 3:25). Males: For all meetings: footwear, shirt and pants (no jeans or shorts). During the Memorial Meeting we expect Brethren and young adults to wear a tie. Females: For all meetings: footwear, dresses or blouse and skirt. Sisters must wear head covering. Recreation: There is discretion allowed during leisure periods, particularly during games or sports activities, but scanty beachwear is unacceptable - one piece swimsuits only please.
Smoking, Alcoholic Beverages, Drugs - Our purpose is to shut out the world by providing a secluded environment to meditate on the things of the Truth. The possession of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and nonmedical drugs violate this purpose. The Committee would feel quite justified in taking the strongest action, should such matters be seen or reported.
Noise - Noise is a way of life in the world around us. At Bible School we want to enjoy the peace and tranquility that can be found there. We therefore request that you leave your iPODs, MP3 players, etc. at home.
Curfew - It is recommended that 11:00 p.m. is a reasonable hour to retire. If you require less sleep, please respect the needs of others!
Basis of Meeting
The Breaking of Bread will be held on Sunday in the Main Hall at 10:00 a.m. and all who accept without reservation the "faith once delivered to the saints" as epitomised for example in the Birmingham Amended Statement of Faith, are invited to participate.
Controversial Matters
The objective of the Bible School precludes the entering into controversy on fundamental issues. This is no way intended to limit discussion on the Scriptures and topics related thereto. It does mean, however, that the advocating of any fundamental teaching which is known not to be in harmony with the teachings of the historic Christadelphian faith is not to take place at the Bible School, and no organized meetings are to be arranged for any reason without prior consent of the Bible School Committee.
Children
Parents and guardians must assume RESPONSIBILITY for children at all times. The Trans Canada Highway runs adjacent to our facilities. Please ensure your children are supervised at all times.
Please Remember
Sign out in the book in the Main Hall when leaving the Bible School facilities. Someone may be looking for you.
Stewards have been requested to keep doors closed during readings, prayers and hymns.
The Authorized Version is to be used by readers during the daily Bible Readings as this version still has the widest usage.
Please bring your hymn books. Hymns will be chosen from the new 2002 Hymn Book.
In order to minimize the number who must leave the grounds we recommend shared transportation for shopping arrangements etc.
Cabins are equipped with a small capacity hot water boiler. Be thoughtful in the use of showers.
Security - it is advised that you lock your cabin when leaving.
All sites to be quiet at 11:00 p.m. Everyone in own cabin please.
